Dawlish Warren Birds. Our Dawlish Inner Warren nature reserve forms part of a massive sand spit which reaches out across the mouth of the River Exe. The birds are associated with Dawlish Warren picture from November 2020 Credit.
This list follows the latest taxonomic order from the BOU. Dawlish Warren is important for birds all year round as a feeding resting and breeding area. Its a small reserve at the southern tip of the Exe Estuary - it sits on a spit of land with the river on one side and the sea on the other and is good for waders and waterfowl especially in the winter when numbers build at and just after high tide when they all.
It was ringed as an adult on 1st December 2007.
The birds are associated with Dawlish Warren picture from November 2020 Credit. Although Dawlish Warren is rightly famous for its birdlife it can appear a very quiet site and if timed wrongly trips may be rewarded with little of bird interest. Remarkably this same bird was seen here at Dawlish Warren 18th - 22nd July 2019. Birds also use the beach for nesting in the summer.
